Mark spoke about the “tiny house”. It can be used for anything including running deer and the traditional shoot. It was used for KFD. It consisted of a lot of donations including the trailer, hardware and putting the building together. John Russo, new member, did the building. The Elk’s had their KFD and they loved the club, they had a great day. They caught 128 fish and had 68 kids. They also donated a lot of food that was not used.
The club bought a table for the Friends of NRA dinner. Everyone who was interested put their name in a hat and 8 names were drawn to attend.
NEW BUSINESS :
MEMBERSHIPS – 972 members. No new members, closed. May 20th was the next orientation.
SKEET – Going well. Last night, 22 shooters. Sign in sheets only go to 20. Made $206 last night. A lot of first timers. Some of the new folks that Bill brought. They were there before Dave got there. At 5pm you could not park. There was discussion of another Ladies Skeet Class with 4 or 5 women.
RANGE USAGE REPORT –
Rifle Range: 123 members, 11 guests, 23 range officer visits
Pistol Range: 176 members, 28 guests, 21 range officer visits
RANGE REPORT-
Rifle Range: No issues, foam target boards all set.
Pistol Range: No issues, replaced target foam at 4, 5, 7, and 8. 3 & 6 were recycled.
No Suggestions. The Range Officers met some of the new members that liked the club and were very receptive to the range offices. Thank you to all the range officers who put in the time this month.
Safety Officer and Director Ed Robinson has taken over the duties of the Deputy Chief Range Officer.
ARCHERY – June 25th is the traditional shoot. It was added to Hawkeye. The Traditional Clubs in NH and ME were notified. Minimal work is needed to spruce it up. Several pine trees that need to be cut down sooner rather than later. That does need to be addressed. In February, there was a Granite State Bowman Shoot. It is $85 a year, you must be on the list. They average 70-90 shooters per shoot, $15 per shoot. You must abide by the rules and agree to shut down all ranges for day. Barry has brought it up before, no sense going further unless that is resolved. Mark mentioned someone might be interested in running a 3D shoot and Barry will help with that. Volunteers are wanted. Starts at 8am. Most will be done by 11am. Authorized $250 in prizes, list of denominations soon. Novelty could be across the street. We have room to put three different courses.
Beth Elliott mentioned that we should put in a grant application with the Friends of NRA. Committees and State vote on it. More than happy to put money towards it.
COMMISSIONERS REPORT- There is a box of Harvest Reports for 2016 which shows every critter that can be harvested in the state. There is no changes in seasons. No changes in game management plan with exception of Moose Hunt. 51 moose permits. Due to the ticks and brain worm the mortality of calves was around 74%. We are very close on two areas, where IF it reaches that point then the moose hunt will be suspended in those areas, that may occur next year. Plus side is, the mortality of moose rate has dropped. Everybody is having the same problem. It doesn’t help that Winter is shorter by about 3 ½ weeks shorter.
The New Hampshire Veteran Sportsman Foundation is offering Free licenses for Veterans.

KIDS FISHING DAY- Received more donations. Finalized most items tonight. Leann will be doing some shopping to finish everything up this weekend. Signs are made, list of donations has been kept and updated frequently. It will be a great day. Looks like we need about 12 volunteers, which I believe we have. That is calculated with a couple volunteers handling parking, 3 volunteers to work registration, a couple volunteers to handle the raffles, one or two volunteers to run the donut and coffee hut and volunteers to cook and pass out food. Elks Kids Fishing Day donated food.
