Rifle Range: Members 175
Guests 10
Pattern 2
RO Visits 23
RO Bob Boudreau found 5 .56 cal empties 20 feet to 25 yards from the target on the 50 yard range, looks like someone was walking towards the target while firing.
DCRO Ed Robinson found three ..22 cal live shells on floor.
No need to change targets, still in acceptable condition
Thanks to RO Bob Boudreau for helping a young shooter clear his rifle as the cartridge was stuck in the chamber.
Pistol Range: Members 259
Guests 33
RO Visits 31
RO Mike H saw a member didn’t step back from firing line while husband was down range. RO instructed member. She also carried an unloaded handgun from one firing station to another.
Clarence suggested a requirement that a handgun be cased for safety while moving.
DCRO Ed Robinson found a bullet hole in front edge of firing shelf on Station 2, looks like a gun went off when the slide went forward. He also found two empty .22 cal boxes & four cases left on firin shelf. Three members failed to sign out.
CRO Clarence Wyatt found a zip lock bag of about 25 .32 cal live rounds left on top of the red dud box.
Changed Targets 1,2,3,5,6,7,8. All but 25 yard #4
Skeet: Shooters 142
Clays 8525
SUGGESTIONS: Posting board outdated, that was fixed. Need wider floor broom in rifle range, purchased push broom. Steel targets, no time soon. Wasp nest in range, wasp spray is in range lockers. On Rifle Range, AK & AR rifles on 100 yard range spews empties into other shooting stations-curtains between stations?
Looking for members to volunteer to be range officers and orientation class instructions. Thanks to RO Clarence Cullen and member Tony Ford for helping with the August orientation class.
Skeet: Trap machine still broke, Dave has not had time to work on it. He received 2 pallets from Rochester Walmart and 2 more in Gilford to pick up on Saturday and another in Rochester to pick up. Everything else is good, decent crowds.
Running Deer: Some people showed up. Deb and Bill fixed the running deer.
Facebook/Website: Bob would like something on there for cleaning up brass after shooting.
Cub Pack 859: Pack would like to hold a recruiting night campfire at the property across the street on Friday, September 22nd, 2017.They do not plan to stay over. They will be using a portable campfire pit and obtain the campfire permit. They will also notify the Police Department.
Ok. Field needs to be mowed.
Other Business: Bob mentioned that we spoke about the Range Rules at the Directors meeting. Directors will be getting into that probably in October and November. It has been 5 years since we have done the By Laws, those will be done as well. That will go to the Annual Meeting. I don’t think we have to present anything for the ranges to the annual meeting.
Dave mentioned that there were all white lines drawn on club property by Dig Safe for the electrical, digging will start Wednesday for the power for gates. It may be advantageous to put that on Facebook. Access may be confusing on Wednesday.
Paul- Hunters Safety was the end of August. 16 people passed the class. Over 30 signed up. There was some confusion as to what was offered at this class. This Hunter’s Safety course is not just a field day required by people who had taken the only class. New people helped out. Everything went fine.
Ed Robinson- Previously, Ed was given permission to research AED’s (automatic defibrillators) but it had been set that aside. He was Under impression they had to be in warmer climate but has since been told otherwise. They have advanced. He will be pursuing that. He has a meeting next week with the Regional Manager of American Ambulance.
Clarence Wyatt wanted to thank Rose for going to the last orientation to get people signed up right away. Some people want to shoot that same day. It can be take up to 72 hours. It was discussed that if they have a note signed by CRO, it would acceptable. Or they have to sign the range rules and get a copy of it, so that will work as well.
Dam: Mark told Bob beyond the point there is a beaver dam and he has been trying to get in touch with a trapper that the town uses, with no success. He would like Clarence to assign a couple Range Officers to keep an eye open for them. Ed spoke about the tremendous damage the beavers have done to the trees out there.
Meeting adjourned at 7:49pm
