OLD BUSINESS-

NEW BUSINESS – Lou mentioned that we should bring back clean up day. It will be discussed at the next Director’s meeting.

Dave said the person doing donuts is back. All but one snow storm he beat Dave to the parking lot. He is tearing up the ground.

Mark brought up that he has been looking on improving this club and security. Security is getting to be a big issues today. We need to get the shooting ranges more secure. We have had requests for electric gates and other things. We are looking into a proposal from different companies and starting at wood line, chain link fence to parking lot, electronic gate there. Another gate manual for emergencies. Down to wooded area. He did mention that if we start doing that much fencing, the electronics, the gates and everything said and done, we are looking at around $50,000. That is just a rough estimate. That does not include any donations. We are putting together prices now. Companies will come in once the weather is better if the executive board is in agreement. If this is approved, a letter will go out to club members.Charlie stated that another club has done it and it is a good idea to explore. It has a plastic card to open the gate. It is a huge job. Ernie mentioned that with our ranges being so open, anyone can walk in.

Mark mentioned that another thing that will be looked at is security cameras. Year after year, the parking lot gets torn up, and it will help range officers as well. Good security system will help us.

We would also like to hear from any and everybody about where the club should go in the future. Should the building be repaired? Should we do improvement on ranges? Should an indoor range be built? Should a multi purpose building be built? We need to hear from everyone. It can be put on Social Media or brought up at Member meetings.

The question was asked about how much land we have. It was said that we have 240 acres. Some of it is rocky.

Bob wanted to welcome back Tom Mynczywour.

A member stated that we have talked about putting a kitchen in for about 3 years now and it has not been done.

Annual awards were passed out:

-Yearly achievement award goes to Ed Robinson.

-Mac McGranahan Sportsmanship Award goes to Clarence Wyatt

Seacoast Friends of NRA representative Beth Elliott spoke about the dinner coming up on Saturday, June 3rd from 5-9pm. Meal is Prime Rib, Stuffed Chicken or Seafood Medley. There will be about 2 dozen guns raffled and auctioned off.  The dinner will be at the American Legion, tickets are $45 each. Last year, they tried the Oaks in Somersworth but there was not enough room and other difficulties. Beth will be back next month to ask about Sponsorship. The cost for a table is $360 for 8 people. ½ tables are available for 4 people.

MEMBERSHIPS – 30 new members, total 928. 254 have not renewed. New members were approved.

SKEET – It has been muddy but we still shoot on Saturdays and Tuesday’s. The machines are good and the clays are good.

RANGE USAGE REPORT – Rifle: 82 members, 6 guests, RO visits 17

Pistol: 83 members, 4 guests, RO visits 28

RANGE REPORT – Not much activity other than snow. No issues. Targets need to be replaced. Pistol-ranges need to be picked up. Thank you whoever shoveled drifts out of rifle range and porta potties. Thank you all RO’s. Don’t forget to wear hat and vest. There was a suggestion to extend rifle range to 300 yds. However, that would not work as we would have to move the skeet range.

ARCHERY – Barry will be putting an ad in the Hawkeye for a Traditional only shoot. The shoot is scheduled for June 25th. Charlie mentioned there are about 7 or 8 places who do traditional shoots. The feedback last time they did one was great, people loved it. They do want to get the word out through Social Media. There is a list of Traditional only shoots in New England, we are on that list. Charlie stated they are building a network of contacts. Clarence wants to help.
